Before I get started, I want to say that the Bote Rackham is a fishing machine. I purchased the 12’ Rackham not knowing much about Bote or Stand up Paddle Board (SUP) fishing. I have always heard of Bote being that I’m a surfer. However, SUPs never interest me until I learned that people in Florida have been doing it for years. SUP Fishing is not popular in Galveston or the Central Coast of Texas. You may come across it every now and then, but it’s very rare. I saw a couple of YouTube videos and I was hooked. I was already looking for an alternative to stand up more and get in a good upper body workout while I was on the water, so I pulled the trigger on the 12’ Bote Rackham.

The Diablo Amigos was one of the funnest kayaks I’ve owned. The best way I can describe the Amigo is as a hybrid of a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) and a sit on top kayak. I really loved that kayak and I caught more redfish on that yak more than any of other yak for the amount of time I had it.
I love the stealthiness of fishing from a SUP when trying to sight cast tailing red fish. I wanted something I could sit down and paddle and have the ability of a SUP. I choose to get the Amigo for those reason and because I was looking for more durable SUP that could take a beating at the launches and oyster. Also, Diablos are popular among Fly Fishmerman for the ability to stand and fish which would be perfect for stalking reds in the marsh.
